A race link from Goat Rodeo
Can you beat my goat?
Someone sent you a race: their run, as a ghost, on the course they built. Race it in the game, then send yours back.
How race links work
A whole race in one link, and nothing on a server
Goat Rodeo replays a run from the buttons pressed, step by step, so a run fits in a link: the level, the items on it and every runner’s presses. Whoever opens it races those runs as see-through ghosts on their own phone, exactly as they were run.
- Finish a roundReach the flag in any match, with friends on one phone or with bots.
- Challenge a friendThe results screen turns the course and your run into a link, for WhatsApp, Messages or any app you like.
- They race your ghostOn their own phone, on the same course, as often as they like.
- They send theirs backTheir best run comes back the same way. Now you’re racing two ghosts.
Questions
Questions about race links
Does racing cost anything?
No. Races are free, even on Full Rodeo levels you haven’t unlocked.
What’s in a race link?
The level, where the items were placed, which animal each runner played and the buttons they pressed, step by step, with their times. Nothing about anyone: no name, no account. Everything after the # stays on the phone that opens it; browsers never send that part to a server, and this page counts no visits. See the privacy policy.
It says the ghosts don’t run true. Why?
Ghosts replay button presses, so both phones need the same version of the game. Update Goat Rodeo on both, then open the link again.
Does it work on an iPhone or a computer?
On an iPhone or iPad, yes: race links open in Goat Rodeo for iPhone and iPad, which is in testing before the App Store. They open in Goat Rodeo for Android phones, tablets and Chromebooks too. On other computers, not yet.
