Always Weather

The whole day, under your thumb.

Open it, drag your thumb through the hours, and you know. The time, the temperature, what it feels like, the wind and the rain all follow your thumb, and each hour settles into place with a light tick.

One plain sentence sums the day up — “Rain from 13:00, clearing by 16:00.” or “Dry all day.” — which is what you opened a weather app to find out. Today hour by hour, up to ten days ahead, your current location and up to ten saved places, and a small home-screen widget with the next few hours. It opens straight to your last forecast, even without a signal.

Coming to Google Play £3.59 once in the UK — Google Play shows your local price. An iPhone version follows.
London at 14:00: 16 degrees and rain, above a strip of hourly bars with the 14:00 bar selected, then a “Sunrise and sunset” heading.
London on Saturday at 11:00: cloudy, 14 degrees. The summary reads “Rain from 16:00, clearing by 21:00.” Below it sit the hourly bars and a “Sunrise and sunset” heading.
Brighton at 22:00: clear night, 14 degrees, on a dark night-blue screen. The summary reads “Dry tonight.” Below it sit the hourly bars and a “Sunrise and sunset” heading.

01 — Two looks

The same forecast, shown your way

Sky takes the colour of the weather at the hour you choose, so the screen itself tells you what the day is doing. Paper is warm and typographic: just the words and the numbers. Pick one when you first open the app, switch any time in Settings.

02 — Made for everyone

One thumb, or none at all

Works with TalkBack: swipe up or down to move through the hours, and each hour is read out in full. Text stays high in contrast, and the layout holds together at twice the normal font size.

03 — Private by design

It knows the weather, not you

  • Approximate location only, rounded to about a kilometre before it leaves your phone
  • No account, no ads, no analytics and nothing to sign up for
  • Saved places and settings stay on your phone
  • Anonymous crash reports, which you can turn off in Settings
