Refund policy
Refunds within 14 days, no questions asked. If you’re not happy with a purchase, ask within 14 days of the payment and you get your money back in full, tax included. You don’t need to give a reason. This covers every payment: the first payment of a monthly or yearly plan, each renewal, and Lifetime. The free trial asks for no card, so there is nothing to refund when it ends.
Bought on the web (Windows, Mac and Linux)
Web purchases are sold by Stripe through its Managed Payments service, shown as Onelink. Email apps@guzh.uk from the email address you used at checkout, or tell us that address, and we’ll refund the payment through Stripe, usually within two working days. You can also ask Onelink, Stripe’s support for the purchases it sells, at support.link.com; Stripe may also refund a purchase itself within 60 days in some cases. The money goes back to the card or account you paid with, and banks usually take 5 to 10 working days to show it.
Bought on Google Play (Android)
Google sells plans bought on Android, so Google Play pays the refund. Within 48 hours of buying, you can ask Google directly: open your order history at play.google.com, choose the purchase and select Report a problem, or use Google’s refund page. After 48 hours and up to 14 days, email apps@guzh.uk with your Google Play order number (it starts with GPA and is in Google’s receipt email), and we’ll refund it in full through Google Play.
Bought on the App Store (iPhone and iPad)
When the iPhone and iPad app arrives, Apple will sell plans bought there, and only Apple can refund them: ask at reportaproblem.apple.com. If Apple turns down a request made within 14 days, tell us and we’ll help.
After a refund
A refunded plan ends straight away, so sync pauses. Nothing is deleted: every device keeps its lists and keeps working on its own, and you can choose a plan again whenever you like. If a refunded subscription would still renew, cancel it as well (below).
After 14 days, and your legal rights
After 14 days we don’t normally refund, except where the law says we must, or if sync has stopped working for you and we can’t fix it; if something has gone wrong, write to us anyway. This policy adds to your legal rights and doesn’t replace them: under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, if the service isn’t as described, isn’t fit for purpose or isn’t provided with reasonable care and skill, you may be entitled to have it put right or to a refund, even after 14 days.
Disputes
Please write to us before disputing a payment with your bank: a refund through us is quicker for you. If you do dispute a web purchase, Stripe handles it as the seller. While a payment is disputed, the plan it paid for is paused, and it comes back if the dispute is settled in our favour.
Plans and cancelling
What does it cost? Always Today is free on one device, for ever. Sync between your devices is £24 a year or £3 a month, or £59 once for Lifetime, with prices including VAT. Every new account gets 14 days of sync free, with no card needed. Outside the UK the checkout may show the price converted into your own currency.
How do I buy a plan? From inside the app, with the account you sync with. On Windows, Mac and Linux, choosing a plan opens Stripe’s secure checkout in your browser (in the terminal: always-today plan). On Android you buy through Google Play. A plan belongs to your Always Today account, so it works on every device you sign in on, wherever you bought it.
Who will I see on my receipt? For web purchases, Onelink, Stripe’s checkout service, which sells the plan; your bank statement shows a line starting LINK.COM*. For Android purchases, Google Play.
How do I cancel? For a web purchase, at link.com, where Onelink lets you manage the subscription. For Android, in Google Play under Payments and subscriptions. Sync keeps working until the end of the period you’ve paid for; after that the app carries on, free, on each device.
What happens when the free trial ends? Sync pauses and the app says, quietly, that sync needs a plan. Nothing is lost: every device keeps its lists and keeps working, and its changes wait until sync is back.
I paid, but sync hasn’t started. Go back to the app: it notices within a few seconds. If it doesn’t, press Restore purchase in the plans sheet (in the terminal: always-today plan restore).
Common questions
Do I need an account? No. Without one, everything stays on your device. An account, just your email address with no password, is only needed to sync.
Does it work offline? Yes. Your lists live on your device. Changes made offline sync the next time the device is online, and two devices editing different parts of the same to-do both keep their changes.
How fast does sync happen? A change is sent a moment after you make it. Your other devices pick it up when you open them, and every few minutes while they’re open.
What does end-to-end encryption change? Turn it on in Settings with a passphrase, and every change is encrypted on your device before it’s sent; the server stores only data it can’t read. You also get a recovery key, shown once: keep it safe. If you lose both the passphrase and the recovery key, nobody, us included, can unlock your synced lists.
Can I bring my lists from Things, Todoist or TickTick? Yes: Settings, Import from Things, Todoist or TickTick. It shows you what it found before adding anything.
How do I get my data out? Settings, Export everything, saves all your lists as a JSON file at any time, on any plan. In the terminal: always-today export.
How do I delete my account? Settings, Delete my account. It offers to export first, then removes everything from our server. It doesn’t cancel a plan you pay for: cancel that too.
On Linux (Omarchy)
What is it? A fast native terminal app and command line, always-today, made first for Omarchy. Keys feel like Vim: j and k to move, x to complete, o to add, / to search, ? for all of them.
Can I add a to-do from a script? Yes, for example:
always-today add "call bank tomorrow 3pm #admin"
Can it show Today in my bar? always-today today --waybar prints Today’s count and items in the format Waybar’s custom modules read.
